I am planning to buy a puppy for myself costing 400 euros and weighing 2 kg. Do I need to pay anything for it when importing it into Belarus?

Animals are included in the unified list of goods subject to veterinary control; therefore, they must be declared.

Customs operations regarding animals are carried out only after they have passed veterinary control.

The value and weight of the imported animals will be included in the general duty-free allowance — the value must not exceed 500 euros, and the weight must not exceed 25 kg.

If these limits are exceeded, customs duties and taxes at flat rates are subject to payment for goods for personal use — 30% of the value in the part exceeding the value limit, but not less than 4 euros per 1 kg of weight in the part exceeding the weight limit.

Additionally, a customs processing fee in the amount of 10 Belarusian rubles must be paid.
